Your church or religious gathering place is a wonderful place to socialize and many times there can be deep and lasting relationships formed. In some religions where marriages are still arranged you will find that religious gathering places are where the initial meetings between interested parties are begun. This is because many people do gather here and they are considered a fairly safe place to look and discuss these matters.

Churches are oftn good in that everyone that has come there will have something in common. You may all have been members for a while. In fact some members have grown up in the church. This means that you will all know each other quite wellad will also be living fairly close to each other.

There is a certain amount of trust for each other with church members, because they have known each other for a longer period. This helps when forming a relationship as other members of the church can vouch for a person. You can learn a little about them before getting involved.

Another good thing about a church and many other religious institutions is that there is often a fair amount of extracurricular activities. Like church bazaars and bake sales etc. this allows you to socialize even more.

Churches often organize prayer groups; these cater specifically to singles and divorced people. You will meet people like yourself at these meetings, plus you will get to know them quite well before you consider a relationship with them.

When you first join a church or religious gathering, check on the activities they offer and sign up for any that interest you. In fact inquire about socials and mixers that may be coming up. These functions are good to meet people and you never know what sort of relationship you might find, that can blossom into something deep and meaningful. Sometimes, if you are shy about meeting new people you can bring a friend along and you can both give each other moral support.

Special religious gatherings: Some religious institutions have many religious festivals throughout the year and the faithful get a chance to meet each other before and after the ceremony. This is also a good way to talk to others and form friendships. These will sometimes form into relationships.

Despite the fact that you are meeting people through your church you still need to be a little careful. Look for any warning signs that the person may not be right for you or is not be open about themselves. Ask around to the other church members and find out more about them before you get involved too deeply. Make sure the person is indeed a church member.


Get involved with your church and attend some functions. It will probably make you feel good when you do this. Do not think about relationships at first and you may find that one is just around the corner.
